Everyone knew that it was coming, It is too early for apple to release ipad 3, as apple has recently released ipad 2 and its sales are still going strong.

According to Digitimes..

US-based tablet PC players Apple has recently canceled its iPad 3 supply schedule for the second half of 2011, forcing other tablet PC brand vendors that are set to launch same-level product to compete, to follow suit and delay their launch; however, supply of the iPad 2 in the second half will still be maintained at 28-30 million units, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

Apple was originally set to launch its iPad 3 in the second half of 2011 with a supply volume of 1.5-2 million units in the third quarter and 5-6 million in the fourth quarter, but Apple’s supply chain partners have recently discovered that the related figures have all already been deleted, the sources pointed out.

Sources Believe that The main reason behind this delay is yield rate of the 9.7-inch panel that feature resolution of 2,048 by 1,536, since such panels are mainly supplied by Japan-based Sharp with a high price and Apple’s other supply partners Samsung Electronics and LG Display are both unable to reach a good yield.

Consumers are expecting major update over IPad 2, So it seems wise for apple to wait for appopriate time and adequete supply.

Nokia plans on launching Windows Phone 7 handsets through China’s largest mobile phone carrier as the handset maker tries to fend off competition from Android devices and Apple’s iPhone.

The smartphones would operate on China Mobile’s 3G network using the TD-SCDMA standard, said Nokia executive vice president Colin Giles during a speech in Beijing on Friday. China Mobile has more than 600 million users or about two-third of the country’s total mobile phone subscriber base.

Giles, however, did not give a specific launch date, and only said the phones would be introduced some time in the future.

Nokia reigns as the top selling handset manufacturer in China. But the company has struggled to maintained that position as sales for Android devices and Apple’s iPhone grow, according to analysts.

Nokia’s move to launch smartphones through China Mobile will allow the company to tap a vast user base, said C.K. Lu, an analyst with research firm Gartner. But the devices may not appeal to most customers given their estimated high price.

“Nokia’s strategy is to use Windows Phone to position its smartphones as higher-end devices,” Lu said. “But if you want the mass market, you have to drive down the price.”

“I think this Windows Phone 7 will help them, but I don’t think it will have a big effect,” he added

Google today announced that it is acquiring Motorola Mobility. The search and online advertising company is buying the company for approximately $12.5 billion (or $40 per share), in cash. The price represents a premium of 63 percent to the closing price of Motorola Mobility shares last Friday. Google had about $39 billion in cash at last count.

Now here comes the important part, According to PR

The acquisition of Motorola Mobility, a dedicated Android partner, will enable Google to supercharge the Android ecosystem and will enhance competition in mobile computing. Motorola Mobility will remain a licensee of Android and Android will remain open. Google will run Motorola Mobility as a separate business.

The Motorola Company holds approximately 14,600 granted patents and 6,700 pending patent applications, worldwide.

Acquiring Motorola Mobility Gives necessary strength to google in order to compete with the likes of Microsoft, Apple etc.

It also brings Google at par with Apple, as google will now have its own hardware and Software…

We are not sure how other big android players like Samsung, htc etc will react to this, but we know one thing for sure that it is not a good news for Microsoft in terms of Patent War.
